Jeep wrangler carplay not working

Let me know if you have tips. OnX and Gaia have not been working very well lately with CarPlay. They don’t sync with my location. I’ve tried setting the location setting to “always allow” while off road, but onX still didn’t work. I had the maps downloaded for offline use. thanks!

Jeep's official answer was use the dash USB port for carplay because the console port doesn't support it. I have the same issue with you. I have a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. It has a type-a port and a type-c port for the carplay. Weirdly, I tried all my type-a to type-c cables on my car. None of them activate the carplay, some of them I confirm it is a USB3 or data cable. I even tried to use a type-a to type-c adapter with a c-c cable. In my '21 JT I use a BT dongle to replace the wire which of course adds an additional device into the mix. The '24 may be better, but don't expect too much.

My jeep has a pioneer 1770nex which is the cheapest model and its CarPlay is wired. I like it and was doing fine but every now and then it goes out screen wise and decides not to play.
