Changing oil pan gasket
If you have a/c , you will need to unbolt the compressor to get to the bolts. Other than that, just ubolt and remove. Clean the sump strainer and clean the faces . My mate did mine and used a sealant as well as a new gasket. Remember to drain the sump first or you will have oil everywhere :wink:E36 oil pan gasket replacement. I bet your oil pan gasket was replaced already by somebody who over torqued the bolts. Mine was factory original and the bolts all came off easily - as far as the torque needed to get them off. The transmission oil cooler lines are a big obstacle to get to the bolts.
