Doberman different ear crops

Hey guys, I am a first-time Doberman owner and I am considering getting my dog's ears cropped. However, I am not sure at what age this procedure should be done. I have heard different opinions from various sources and I am quite confused. Some say it should be done at 6 weeks old while others suggest waiting until the puppy is 12-16 weeks old.
